The Aare River originates in Grimsel, meandering through mountains, lakes, and urban landscapes, ultimately joining the Rhine in Koblenz. Over millennia, it has carved a 1.4-kilometer-long, up to 200-meter-deep canyon between Meiringen and Innertkirchen.

Explore this natural wonder individually or in groups, even enjoying evening visits in July and August for a mystical atmosphere. Combine it with a meal at Restaurant Aare Gorge. Accessible from Interlaken or Lucerne via Meiringen, with parking available at both entrances.
