During a short but steep ride of 10 minutes you will be brought from Interlaken to the Harder Kulm, where the viewing platform is waiting for you. At the top, breathtaking views, numerous hiking trails and a panoramic restaurant await you!

What do I need to book online?

All you need for your booking is internet access. Put your mountain railway ticket, your skipass or a package in the shopping cart. You then pay conveniently & securely with a credit card and print* your travel documents at home. Travel directly to your destination – we take care of all the rest. You can book using a guest account as well as with a user account.

*The mountain railway ticket can be presented as a mobile ticket on your smartphone without a printout.

Is a group reservation necessary?

Seat reservation is required for groups from 10 persons. This can be confirmed at the earliest 3 months in advance. Group reservations can be made by telephone at +41 33 828 72 53 or via e-mail to reservation(at)jungfrau.ch.

Reservation is not obligatory for individual travellers, but is recommended and can be made via our online shop atjungfrau.ch/shop/en/bergbahn/reservation.

Is a single seat reservation necessary?

Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of the most popular travel destinations in Europe. As individual travellers and small groups, you can book your seats for the journey from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch –Top of Europe and back. 

If you do not make a reservation, we cannot guarantee you a seat at the desired departure time. Longer waiting times must be expected.

Are the Jungfrau Railway always in operation?

Is the journey to the Jungfraujoch wheelchair accessible?

Is a day ticket (e.g. municipality day ticket) valid as a Half Fare Card?

Day tickets (day ticket with Half Fare, day ticket without Half Fare, municipality day ticket, Post day ticket, Duo day ticket, etc.) are valid for free travel from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald, Wengen and Mürren.

The day ticket is valid on the following connecting routes:

  • Customers with a day ticket with Half Fare
    These customers pay for routes in the Half Fare area connecting tickets at half price according to price list.
  • Customers with a day ticket without Half Fare Card (e.g. municipality day ticket, Post day ticket)
    These customers pay for routes in the Half Fare area connecting tickets at full price according to price list.

  • Grindelwald-Kleine Scheidegg-Wengen (Wengernalp Railway)

How much does it cost for a child to travel to the Jungfraujoch?

Children up to 5 years of age always travel free of charge. Children aged 6 to 15 either travel free with the Junior Card or Children’s Travelpass, or pay CHF 20.-. The above-mentioned family cards can be purchased for CHF 30 per child at any SBB station in Switzerland.

The family reductions such as the Junior Card, Children’s Travelpass or Swiss Family Card are not valid in combination with the Top of Europe Pass, the Jungfrau Travel Pass or the Jungfrau Corona Pass. Children aged 6-15.99 years require the Top of Europe Pass, Jungfrau Travel Pass or Jungfrau Corona Season Pass at a price of CHF 30.00 net per child.

How long does the journey to the Jungfraujoch take?

With the Wengernalp Railway via Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen:
The journey from Grindelwald takes 1 hour 26 minutes there and 1 hour 26 minutes back. We recommend at least 5–6 hours to allow a reasonable amount of time on the Jungfraujoch.

From Grindelwald Terminal with the Eiger Express: 
The journey from Grindelwald Terminal takes 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back. 
We recommend at least 3.5–4.5 hours to allow a reasonable amount of time on the Jungfraujoch.
