The train journey from Wilderswil to the top of Schynige Platte may only cover 7.25 kilometers, but it takes a leisurely 70 minutes to complete. The slow pace is perfect for taking in the stunning scenery, which includes views of Lake Brienz, Lake Thun, and the majestic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. Once you reach the summit, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied. Take a stroll through the Botanical Alpine Garden, which features over 650 species of plants, or simply relax and admire the panoramic views from the restaurant. If you visit during the summer months, you can also enjoy traditional Swiss music as alphorn players perform daily between 11 AM and 2 PM.

No trip to the Jungfrau region is complete without a visit to the Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest train station at an altitude of (3,454 meters) above sea level.
